Who We Are

EIMG_2630 (1).jpg

NovelBound Co-Founders
Madi & Sophie

We created NovelBound for ourselves just as much as we created it for you. From finishing a first draft to figuring out indie publishing, from entering the query trenches to going on submission, the writing journey is complex and confusing.

We saw a need for a platform with resources, community, and conversation — so we built one!

About Madi

Hi everyone! I'm Madi — the other NovelBound co-founder :)

I've been writing for as long as I can remember (probably even before I can remember, haha)! Besides writing, I've always had a huge passion for building community so when Sophie and I dreamed up NovelBound the answer for me was an immediate yes. Can't wait to get to know you but in the meantime here's a few things about me:

  • I travel A LOT. Currently, I'm based in Lexington, Kentucky but I spent the last year living in Dublin, Ireland and before that was solo traveling! I recently hit my 30th country!

  • I have a BA in Film Production and an MSc in Entrepreneurship & Innovation.

  • I'm published in Ethel Magazine and self-published a poetry collection in 2018.

  • I primarily write YA Fantasy & Dystopian but like to dabble in Adult fiction, as well.

  • I've written three novels and am currently in the query trenches while also revising my most recent novel.

  • I LOVE a good tiktok edit (send me all the GoT, THG, Merlin, and TWD content).

  • Outside of NovelBound, I'm a Community Manager.

Thanks for letting me be part of your writing journey and thank you for being part of mine!

About Sophie

Hey everyone! I'm Sophie, one of the co-founders of NovelBound. Writing has been my passion since childhood and I'm so excited to use that passion to work with other writers through NovelBound. Here's a little more about me:

  • I'm from Northern Illinois, USA.

  • I have a degree in Creative Writing and Art & Design, and I am published in Many Nice Donkey's, Anthrow Circus, and the Asbury Review, plus a children's book I wrote and illustrated.

  • I work in education, but I'm also a freelance illustrator.

  • I have written 6 (but almost 7) novels and I'm currently in the query trenches (AH!!). I mostly write YA and middle-grade fiction.

  • Travel is my favorite thing ever, and I've lived short-term in three countries aside from the USA.

  • I play the baritone ukulele, which is basically a tiny guitar.

  • I'm an aunt to two cutie little babies.

I am SO excited to be a part of NovelBound and all your writing journeys.
